We are aware that there have been instances of fraudulent EyeEm accounts, and we want to assure you all that we are actively working to remove these profiles from our platform. These fraudulent accounts can be quite convincing and may attempt to engage you in offers to purchase your images for substantial amounts.
What Should You Do?
Incidents like this are unfortunately becoming more frequent online.
In order to prioritise the safety and well-being of all users and fulfil our duty of care, we would like to bring the following points to your attention:
- All sales facilitated by EyeEm will be conducted directly through our platform, and you will be able to view these transactions on your earnings page. We will never initiate a sale through an EyeEm user profile, and all earnings will be securely paid to you through EyeEm.
- We will never request any upfront payment before releasing your earnings. Scammers may pose as potential buyers and ask you to send funds to 'unlock' or 'release' the payment. Please be aware that this is a scam, and do not transfer funds directly to any EyeEm user.
- If you receive communication from another user and have concerns about its authenticity, please reach out to us with a link to their profile and a screenshot of the communication for us to investigate.
