Why did you disappear these past months?
For the last few months, we have been doing our best to find a solution that would allow the EyeEm community to thrive and move forward. We are aware that, during this process, we have failed to be as communicative as you deserve, but we are finally back to make things right and support your growth.
What happened with Talenthouse?
Unfortunately, Talenthouse got into financial troubles, and with that EyeEm became insolvent. That’s why we’ve had to part ways and start anew with Freepik.
I have pending payments, will I get paid in full?
Absolutely. If you haven't done so already, please request payment by visiting your earnings dashboard (https://www.eyeem.com/market/sell/payout) and clicking "Payout”.
When am I getting paid?
We have already started paying out all open requests and will continue to do so regularly again. We expect this process to be finished by the end of October 2023.
Will I have the opportunity for future sales?
Yes - we are currently in talks with both our previous and new distribution partners to resume collaborations. EyeEm’s marketplace is open for business, and you can start uploading new files again if you haven’t yet.
What should I expect from EyeEm from now on?
We will get up to speed smoothly in the next few months and update you on every milestone throughout this new path.
Will the app be running as usual?
Yes - the app has been recently updated to support Android’s latest versions.
Image Reviewing, should I upload images again?
Yes - feel free to keep uploading, or to upload again. We will pick up the reviewing queue from where it was left in April, working through the backlog, please give us some time to catch up.
Will the community receive support again?
Absolutely, our community is a top priority for us. We plan to activate communication channels, keep our blog updated, and provide you with the support you need.
Will there be missions again?
Yes, we plan to reintroduce missions before the end of the year, providing more opportunities for you to engage and increase your earnings.
What’s the role of Freepik?
Freepik has acquired EyeEm and will provide support to take EyeEm back to full capacity and even beyond. Additionally, Freepik will become a distribution partner to EyeEm, distributing our content only to its Premium subscribers.
Who is Freepik?
Freepik is one of the largest graphic resources platforms, with more than 635,000 subscribers and 55,000 contributors. By having your content displayed in Freepik, you will increase its visibility and your earnings.
How will my content be distributed in Freepik?
Your content will be labeled as “Premium” and will only be distributed to its Premium subscribers, so you can expect to make extra earnings through Freepik.
What will be the revenue sharing model?
We're returning to the equitable 50-50 revenue sharing model. Any revenue generated from your images through Freepik will be directed to EyeEm, and you'll receive an equal split of the earnings.
What happens to my existing EyeEm account? Do I need to create a Freepik account?
No, your EyeEm account will remain on our platform, allowing you to upload your content. Freepik’s acquisition will only mean an extra distribution channel for you for now, and you will be updated with any changes.
Will I receive my following payments as I used to?
Yes, PayPal will continue to be our payment partner, and we will notify you every time you sell a photo with a link to the Earnings section of your account. You will receive your requested payouts within 30 days again.
What is the new payout status "lapsed"
Payout Lapsed: As stated in our ToS, while you have your account with us, we will keep your License Share available for payment for the period equal to the applicable statutory limitation periods in Germany, which is three (3) years (see Section 195 of the German Civil Code (BGB)). After this period, your right to payment will lapse. Therefore, please check your user account regularly to see whether you have any outstanding payout claims.
Remember that you can even claim <10$ sales once per year usually in December by contacting our support team.
A lot of payout notifications are coming in lately. Where are these from?

Triggered on | 13.Oct.2023 | (Friday) | Sales from | January 2023 |

Triggered on | 17.Oct.2023 | (Tuesday) | Sales from | March 2023 |

Triggering on | 20.Oct.2023 | (Friday) | Sales from | July + Aug 2023 |
We are splitting these into single days and not triggering all at once for different reasons. The main ones being technical reasons, the time it takes to process them and simply for a better overview + structure, internally and externally.
Payouts via PayPal will happen daily, after all sales for the day have been notified.
